Galileo Galilei summary.

WALT: learn, create, and share our posters to our blog.

I really liked the learning I did with my friend Riley! It's fun to learn how things were created such as the telescope. I never knew that Jupiter had 4 moons, and that before man took a step on the moon, Galileo Galilei found it had huge craters and mountains. Did you like the poster we made? What else should we add to it to make it better?

Refugee character drawing.

WALT: Create a quality blog post that explains our learning.

I chose Josef because I thought that he was very kind to try and keep his father with his mother, sister, and him. And very brave to be walking around a train, talk and laugh with a German knowing that Jews aren't  supposed to. Josef was also thoughtful enough to get his own sister some candy. And that made me think that if everyone would be that kind, brave, and thoughtful enough to do that if leaving their country.

would you do that for your family members if you were forced out of your own country?

Packing the suitcase.

WALT: create a quality blog post that explains our learning.

Today I had read chapter 4 of 'Refugee', by Alan Gratz. And since we've been introduced to the 3 main characters, Josef, Isabel, and Mahmoud. And they all have 1 mission in commen...escape their own country!

The things i have chosen to take with me if i were escaping New Zealand are:

My phone + charger.

The reason I would take my phone is to find out where i'm going on google maps. Stay in contact with my family members that couldn't make it out. And listen to some music at times as well.

Books.

The reason I would take my books are because i would have something to do when waiting for something like fishing ( if on a raft ) or my phone to be fully charged. And also because books are really fun to read for me.

Cloths.

I'd take fresh clean cloths because, well...who'd like to be in the same pair of cloths for who knows how long, that person would probably end up being stuck in the middle of no where for a year or so.

Spaghetti + water.

For food i'd have spaghetti because... Well, why not? it's super delicious and plus it's fulling. So that's the thing i'd have and I know it isn't healthy but that's probably the only food i'd miss if food disappeared. And water is another thing to take for me. other wise we'll end up dead of dehydration...and i don't like that thought 1 bit.

Maori Gods.

WALT write to describe how our Nga atua maori relate to us.

This term Huia whanau and I were learning about the Maori gods and what they did, Riley, Marko and I made an animation to make it look like the creation story. we tried our best to finish everything we could and had to do, but had no success to finishing our must-do's. Then on Wednesday we all learnt a new song from our great teacher, Miss Fleet! she also wanted us to see what maori god relate to us. I think the maori god I relate to is Rongo-ma-tane, that's only because i'm always happy to help and it takes a while for me to get angry.

What Maori god do you think you relate to?

Tuesday 3 March 2020

What's respect?

WALT: describe what respect is in our own words.

Respect is what everyone tries to show for others around them, people that show respect are always there to help others that are hurt or, respectful people always listen to others that speak and always have eye contact when speaking with someone else. Respectful people also help others when they read out to others, like teachers, teachers are always taking time out of their own day for children and mid-teens, like us and we're never being respectful to them when they need our attention. Instead we carry on with our chatting and messing, while the respectful people try to get us to sit down and listen.

even though people are disrespectful they do always need respect, like bully's for example, even though they bully everyone they still need to be respected and stepped up to. Respectful people also use respectful words like " yes please" and " no thank you " people always introduce themselves too.

My hobby.

What are your favourite things to do? My hobbies include's drawing, reading, swimming, and biking at home. Drawing has always been my hobby i used to always make drawings for my mother and farther and they loved them. Reading became a hobby from wings of fire, so I could read almost any book and be glued to it. Swimming is another hobby I love because of how fast i want to be, and so I know how to swim instead of drowning. I love biking because me and Starley have races and she usually wins.

My Goals for the year.

The book I've read.

The book that I've read once is the Minecraft combat book. I like it because I learn more about how to survive every mob in combat and of course, other players. It also has fun ways to trick your friends into respawning by one funny move. my favorite trick is the tree blowing up.

The combat book is very helpful in many fun ways. I wish to read it again

WALT: work together as a team
Reflection: here we are working together to build a marshmallow tower using skewer's and marshmallow's. Here is my group trying to do one, but fail, then try another just to fail again. then i had a idea to just muddle up the tower, put marshmallow's at the bottom of the tower and skewer's at the top. I kinda rushed the tower because we had 20 seconds in.

Team buiding 2020

Walt: work together as a team.
Reflection: Yesterday we had a team building challenge. first we split up in teams of five, second we grab a long peace of string, cups, and a rubber band. The goal of the game is to not touch the cups with your body parts or you restart. For some of us it was kind of hard to build that we had wished we could touch them. For the rest of us it was kind of fast we wished we could do it again. Some of us even had idea's on how to make the cup tower taller>
